[Well, Tulane's up to no good again. Bunny and Tooth have been buzzing around Cherrygrove trying to get used to this... human thing. Especially financially-- Bunny's been writing up numbers everywhere. Science had been his thing long ago and he certainly was no stranger to mathematics but hell if it didn't concern him a little; being human is taxing and he definitely prefers guarding them instead.

Tulane, however, is not being the most cooperative smeargle in the city. He's stolen Bun's pokégear again, and for a few seconds the feed is just a smeargle's mischievous face as he carts about the inn's room.

Until, of course, Bunny snatches him up, carries him upside-down under his arm, and looks into the video feed.]

Quick question.

[Shooting Tulane a look, Bunny decides to ignore the fact Tulane's sticking-out-tongue is definitely being aimed his way. Rude, Tulane.]

They all like this, or is there some sorta clue t' what these buggers are like?

[When he's not engaged in shady activity, Rude doesn't see why he can't offer some small assistance to others. It's just an honest question, so he doesn't think that his new Rocket overlords would mind him answering so long as he kept his identity a secret.]

Mine's quiet. Keeps to himself. I think they're all different.

[But then again, he keeps his Pokemon inside their Pokeballs. Is he supposed to let them out? The guide didn't mention anything about that. Unsure, Rude lets out his Tyrogue and Houndour on the other side to check. Once he's sure they're not running around throwing stuff around his room, he returns back to the message.]

Mine got a hold of my gear the first day. A lot of them seem pretty curious and playful, or I guess social might be the better way to put it.

Not all of them.

[Sho grins as he says it, holding up an Eevee]

⊼ & ⊽ are pretty calm and haven't stolen anything. ⟒ doesn't leave his Pokeball unless he has to. ⧝ and Riemannian Zeta-Function are pains in the integer. σ is an Eeveelution and about as calm as ⊼ & ⊽ are.

[In order those would be: Nand, Nor, Element of Opening Upwards, Tie Over Infinity, and Standard Deviation. However somehow, call it Sho's special brand of special, he manages to pronounce them like symbols.]

Depends on the type, and even if you've got one from a species that're pretty notorious it doesn't always mean you'll have trouble. To put the short and simple on it, they're like us more than y'might think. I've got trouble-makers, too. Young ones can be a handful more than anything from what I've experienced.

Ya can check the 'dex and some of the entries talk about the way the species majority behaves, but that's not a 100% guaranteed deal. Best way to figure out is to just do what you're doin', keep an eye on 'em and try not to be too hard on 'em.

Personality-wise?

They're all different.

... And for the most part, all annoying.

Don't worry, though, they grow on you.

[Looks like Bunny got one that might've been better suited for Jack! At least, Jack certainly thinks it's cute. But then, that might also involve the reaction of the subject, namely said Bunny.]

[The electric squirrel draped over his shoulder is watching the screen and cooing curiously. Maybe taking notes.]

All of mine are pretty friendly so far. None of 'em really have thumbs, though, so that probably helps.

What exactly do you mean all like this? Because if you mean that they all can fit in pokeballs and fight, then yes! I think that is a common thing for Pokemon to be able to do!

But no one here gets cheat sheets, so you don't get one either.

Looks like that's what everyone else is sayin' as well.

[It's certainly interesting; sure, every animal back home had a personality of some sort, but in Pokémon it seems to be intensified.]

Guess I'll just have to get used to it.

[In Rude's mind, he's still equating Pokemon to pets. And if a pet's misbehaving, then you need to get that water spray bottle out.]

[He shoots another look down at Tulane, but starts to scratch the pokémon's stomach before he says anything else. He probably wouldn't have so much trouble if he was working with the pokéballs, but...]

Tulane slips out from under Bunny's arm, then, crawling over his shoulder so he can see the screen-- and Bunny can't help but roll his eyes.]

Not sure he's unfriendly so much as he's doin' it on purpose.

[As if to confirm it, Tulane rolls his eyes.]

Looks like ya hit the right settin' this time, 'ah?

I mean bein' a bit of trouble, but I ain't so sure it's just the pokémon 'ere that wanna be trouble.

Can't say I'm experienced with it at all, actually. I'll have to look at the guide the girl gave us the other day.

[He's used to working alone, even on a team. And usually staying away from people's pets.]

...Right. Any reason you play Pythagorean Roulette with those names?

[He seems likely to go on like that for roughly, oh, the rest of time. Luckily for Bunny his pokemon know exactly what to do. Standard Deviation stands behind his chair so that Tie can hop on the Flareon's back, shift into a mini-Minimoto, and smack their trainer upside the back of the head hard enough that his eyes lose focus for a moment.]

That's a good one, hectopascal! I'll have to use it.

Most of 'em. But, y'know, some of us stay rebels and trouble-makers our whole lives too.

Well, I don't have a whole lot of experience with... earth dogs.

I dunno if they literally understand, like, EVERY WORD, but... they get you.

Hey, come on, Bunny. That's an awful high expectation for them to live up to.

[Patch makes a sound of greeting when Tulane appears more properly, leaning over farther until Jack finally gives in and plucks her off his shoulder to hold instead. Her ears twitch happily. Yeah, they're all doing it on purpose.]

They do seem pretty smart. Most of them. [Not so much Dingle.]

[ While Bunny deals with Tulane, Tooth bites her lip to keep in a laugh before ambling over to him with an armful of... well, eggs, it looks like. One of them just happens to be Haroom all tucked up and dozing, but there are two actual eggs in her possession. ]

I guess we'll find out about that.

[ She shifts her arms and hands around, carefully tucking her Togepi and one egg against her chest while she holds out the third to him. ]
