Character
Name: E. Aster Bunnymund (headcanon first name "Edwin".)
Series: Rise of the Guardians
Timeline: Post-movie
Canon Resource Links: Rise of the Guardians and Bunnymund. As the wikia seems to redact much of Bunny's book canon and movie canon, I also attempt to do the same without being confusing.
Personality:
The word 'ornery' tends to be a little bit of an understatement when it comes to Bunnymund. You wouldn't be the nicest person either, really, if your entire species was eliminated hundreds of years ago. Still, as the Guardian of Hope, thisterrifyingly largerabbit is not only a giant softie but has the biggest hopeful heart-- and with what he guards, brings forth the hope of Spring every year. He's highly confrontational and likes to pick a fight, but is quick to back off the moment he knows he's outmatched. Bunnymund's got a terrible temper and can often be a bit of a spitfire with his words-- in fact, he's terrible with words whether calm or furious. Regardless, he's still excellent with kids, especially the youngest. He wears his heart on his sleeve and is definitely a tsundere type personality.
Though a loner by force, Bunnymund tends to stick close to those he allows in. He's protective and, while he may tease and poke fun a bit maliciously, defends those he cares about with all he's got. Agile and quick witted, he can be tough to keep up with; get him flustered, however, and you'll quickly win any argument with him. He's loud and boisterous, if only to cover the gentler parts of his nature. When among the flora and fauna, Bunnymund can be soft and sweet, as much as he may try to hide it. Colours slow him down and he has to appreciate them; the brighter they are, the more hope they represent.
Bunnymund is over 300 years old but exactly how old he is remains a mystery. For his species, he appears to be in his prime (the human equivalent of anywhere 25-30) but was also given a fallible immortality as a guardian.
Another important thing to note is that Bunnymund's species was once in charge of protecting the remaining light captured from when the universe first began. After the fall of the Golden Age and the loss of his people, Bunnymund searched for a pure people to begin the new Golden Age, but didn't trust humanity at first; they were too easily inclined to 'misbehave'. It took the convincing of a few individuals to show Bunny that humans could remain in the light before he used it to help protect Earth from Pitch's darkness.
...Oh, and, being a rabbit? He's afraid of dogs-- you won't see him training anything resembling one.
Pookas in traditional mythology also never say goodbye, so Bunny's dismissals aren't very graceful.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
+Athletic
There's a reason you never race a rabbit! Bunny's quick on his feet and quick on his wits, and he's built strong as well.
+Martial Artist
A self-proclaimed master of tai chi (who's had over 300 years to perfect it, honestly) Bunny is familiar with many different martial art styles. He seems to prefer avoiding using them, though, as much as he likes to pick fights.
-"people person...?"
By which one means not at all. Bunny is a loner and isn't very good at social interaction when it doesn't involve complaining or picking fights. It takes a long time to get him accustomed to speaking to a person.
-Trust
As implied above, Bunny isn't good at trusting people, either. He needs time and solid proof in order to trust someone-- and his trust is very easily broken.
+Big Brother complex?
He may be terrible with 'peers', but Bunny's excellent with small children and animals. He's a bit of a pushover for them but takes great care of them and seems to prefer their company over anyone else's.
+/-Overprotective
While he may not be quick to trust a person, Bunny is quick to protect them-- especially if they seem to be alone. This can sometimes go too far, but not generally. In any case, it's good to have him on your side for this reason.
+Intelligence
In book canon, Bunny's a bit of an engineer. When you've been around as long as he has, you learn quite a few things; Bunny is intelligent, but it sure as hell doesn't mean he's smart. He's very likely to think mathematically about breeding pokémon.
-Temper
If there's anything quicker than Bunnymund's feet, it's the span of his temper. He's easily riled up and gets flustered more often than he gets violent.
+Artist
Bunnymund has an incredible hold on colour and each of the eggs he paints is a little masterpiece.

First Person Sample:
--hell is this thing?
[As the transmission cuts on, Bunny seems almost flustered- he hadn't been expecting for the video to work even if the buttons on the screen had been rather straight-forward. Communication isn't his forte and neither are the associated devices. He supposes he should leave a message, but asking for help isn't exactly his... thing.]
Look, I don't know how I got here or anythin', an' judgin' by the state of things I don't think I'm gettin' out of 'ere any time soon.
[Pausing to rest a comforting touch against the head of the Smeargle hiding behind his leg, Bunny breathes a sigh.]
So if you just-- if you've got any idea what's goin' on or ya might know where I can find the other guardians-- Toothiana? Sandman? St. North?
...If the names ring a bell, let me know.
[For a moment he stares at the skin on his arm-- human skin, how strange-- before shutting the communication off.]
Third Person Sample:
Of all things it's honestly being human that is strangest to Bunnymund, since he's come to Johto. His body doesn't move the same way or work the same way, his senses have been inexplicably dulled, and while he's well equipped for heavy lifting he simply doesn't feel as strong as he did when he was the last pooka.
He's had very little time to contemplate that, honestly, because while he may no longer be the only pooka he is also not the only pokémon breeder, and he's rather pleased about that. Bunnymund knows nothing about these strange and sort of disconcerting creatures, and being so attached to the idea of going home, he isn't sure he wants to learn.
...And yet, the fact that these creatures are so strange is absolutely magnetic. It isn't his fault he ended up in the possession of a pokémon egg but he'd never reject a responsibility given him by the one who gave him the egg, and so it is with pleasure he has taken care of it. Bunny can't help but find it strange-- it's almost as if the creature within the egg is aware of what he says and does. The more he touches the shell of it, the warmer it seems to get. It tends to wiggle and bounce when Bunny's Smeargle, Tulane, paints bright yellow-green doodles on its shell-- an interaction that can't help but make Bunny smile.
When the egg finally hatches it's nothing short of amazing; he's seen almost every hatching creature on Earth be born, but never has he seen something so similar to a rabbit emerge from an egg. The buneary is more than endearing in both its already exuberant behaviour and its tiny size.
"Well, kid," he tells the little pokémon, scratching at the fur behind its coiled ear, "Good mornin' to you too. Tulane here an' I are gonna be your partners from now on, alright?"
For what it's worth, while he certainly thinks a number of these 'pokémon' are weird, he can't help but find Tulane and the new Buneary's happy little calls adorable.
